This is our third summer in this house, but the garden is still just beginning. Our first year here we didn't move in until mid-summer - too late to garden, and then last summer I was away at school; both summers the deer mowed down anything that was growing. So this summer my garden is brand new, just a babe. A lot of it I planted from seed (late) this spring and so everything is flowering and fruiting a bit late. We have a fence up now, so the deer have been nonexistent so far, which has been wonderful. This year the garden is mostly just around the edges of the house, with some melons, peppers, and sunflowers growing along the fence. Hopefully next year we can fill much more of the yard with veggie beds and more flowers and herbs.
But here are a few photos of what is growing so far.
My much adored clematis.

This bed is packed full of poppies, columbine (done flowering), lavender, snapdragons (not flowering yet), chamomile, green onions and carrots - I ate the first carrot this morning!

More poppies, clematis, sweet woodruff, and phlox (not flowering yet), and one of my banana pepper plants.
The lettuce and arugula bed - overrun by johnny-jump-ups!

And a pretty little wildflower that volunteered itself.
