It's that time of year again.  These two sweater dresses (size 4-5T and5-6T respectively) will be on Etsy tomorrow (morning?).  More to come!

Très jolie

Yesterday I needed to pick up a couple staples at the fabric store and the Vogue patterns just happened to be on sale for $3.99 - even these Vintage Vogue which are normally almost $30!!  It was hard to choose just one, but I liked the flat front of this dress and the poof in the back.  The recommended fabrics listed include wool crepe, and I'm imagining either black or possibly a deep brown or green.

The spring issue of small magazine is online now - lots of pretty stuff, as always.  There are a couple dresses in there that I'd love to "copy" - for gg or myself - not sure which yet.

Better late than...

So here are pics of the latest (last?) two sweater dresses of this gloomy (sorry - the sun isn't out today) season.  But the dresses are quite cheery.  I'm posting these for a woman who may still be interested - if not, they'll go into the next update on etsy.  (The owl is a pocket.)

Whiskers

Well, I've been a bit afraid to post anything new on here, as after my last post something went haywire and my typelists are still down at the bottom left-hand side of the page!  Hopefully it will be fixed soon and not so strange looking much longer. 

I've been doing a lot of sewing over the past few days - the pants did get sewn, just one pair so far.  I also made the babe another little top, and put one sweatshirt on etsy.  We're going to a solstice party at friends' house on Saturday night, so the plan now is to actually make myself something (gasp!) to wear to it - probably a wrap skirt.  I'll post pictures later this weekend, if I succeed.

Pink cheeked bunny

So I went a bit crazy with the sewing today.  I've been meaning to make the babe some new clothes and just kept putting it off.  One of the things that I've been doing is saving t-shirts that don't fit the other kids or myself or my husband, or have stains or holes or whatever - meaning to piece them together into some cute little t-shirts for her.  Waste not want not, right?  Well today I finally felt inspired to do so.  The first tee I made was from a super soft green thrift store find that I'd gotten for myself, but that was kind of short.

The second was, likewise, from another green thrift store tee that had been intended for myself, but that I didn't like the fit of (due to not actually trying them on at the thrift store.)  To this one I added an applique made from a golden terry cloth towel I'd been hanging on to because it looked like it could be made into some cute furry animal at some point. 
 

And the last one was made from a mens' t-shirt/undershirt and some cute cotton knit that I've been using quite a bit for the dolls' arms.  This one went on to Etsy, as I had to feel as if I was working at least a little bit today.  The older kids protested - they really like this one.  Who knows, if it doesn't sell it may end up in her closet anyway (or to be honest, the pink furry bag that holds all of her clothes - not exactly a closet.)
 

So tomorrow I'm thinking of moving on to pants.
